Performing a simulation When you press the “Run” button in the toolbar, or choose “Run simulation…” in the “Model” menu, DynRisk displays a dialog box asking you to specify under which filename to save the simulation results. The simulation starts as soon as you press “OK”. Note that DynRisk allows you to choose one of two different calculation modes: • Background calculations • Foreground calculations By using the background calculation mode, you can perform other tasks while the simulation runs. The cost of this flexibility, however, is a decrease in the simulation speed. The current calculation mode is controlled by using the “Misc. options…” command in the “Preferences” submenu of the “File” menu. You may temporarily reverse the calculation mode for the upcoming simulation by pressing the “Shift” key while clicking on “Run” button.
